Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas to all of you. This time of year carries a lot of emotions for most of us: feasting, celebrations, family, friends, and remembering the ones we love and have lost. Don’t forget to add in all of the parties, gatherings, shopping, and gift-giving. It can be a lot.

I would encourage all of us to slow down a bit and remember why we’re doing what we’re doing. Are we so caught up in the noise that we aren’t taking time to remember what it is we are really celebrating? I know many of us come from different perspectives and walks of life. So, I’m not going to tell you what you’re celebrating. I’m asking. What does Christmas and the holiday season mean to you? What are things you do to make it special? Perhaps you have some special traditions? Perhaps it is nothing but another day for you.

Now, because this is a website dedicated to food, I have to wonder what sorts of delicious meals and treats you all are making. I hear lots of rumors of Christmas cookies, which are quite delightful to decorate. Maybe toffee? Fancy popcorn? What about meat? Rumor has it that I have a hunk of prime rib coming my way. I also know we also have some left at the shop if you haven’t been able to decide on what to make. Additionally, we have hams. I remember having ham for Christmas as a kid, so this whole beef thing is new for me. I’m not sure if any of you saw, but I posted recipes for both on Facebook. I’m going to go ahead and post them here too, just in case you’re struggling to decide what to make. And, if you do make something different, please feel free to tell us in the comments.

Wishing you the very best holiday season,
